Well, what a year! Things started out strongly, continued to get busier, and staying in that vein – finishing on a high. We are currently recruiting across most project sectors, both private and public sector and anticipate this will continue well into 2022
When considering this past year it feels somewhat exhausting to reflect on what has been, but no one can deny it has been a BIG 12 months – and that’s not even talking about COVID! (Although that subject will weasel its way in throughout as it always does).
It’s been an intriguing 2021 and what’s next we ask?
We’ve had the pandemic, unrest in the streets, earthquakes…. Please, just don’t mention the plague or pestilence!!!
With that as a starting point, it seems remarkable that we have seen such a strong first 9 months of 2021!
The market has shown strong demand and created a clear shortage of available talent, with this being most pronounced between March and September.
It’s been a really interesting time seeing how the market has traveled through this 2021 lock-down and how studios and staff have coped with the transition to working remotely for such an extended period. Overall, the sentiment and activity has remained very positive during the outbreak of the Delta strain in Sydney and companies have remained confident about their workflow and hiring intentions…
So what’s happening elsewhere? Not something we maybe think as much about when in full lockdown and our focus might seem more locally driven. Our wonderful affiliate in the UK, Oliver Tidmarsh from JaK Consulting filled us in on happenings in his neck of the woods and had this to say about their local market..

Post lock down action! – that’s the only way we can describe the “bounce” we have seen, starting tentatively in December, building through January, with momentum continuing into March strongly here at BT&P Melbourne.
